Oklahoma Leaders

Written in 1928, Oklahoma Leaders tells the stories of many influential men and their role in shaping the history of the state of Oklahoma. Today, we bring these stories to life for future generations.

About the Book: Oklahoma Leaders

Oklahoma Leaders: Biographical Sketches of the foremost Living Men of Oklahoma, written by Rex Harlow, was published in 1928.

Hundreds of Oklahomans in all parts of the state recommended names for the book. The names of 232 outstanding men were compiled. Finally, 49 sketches were selected. Very few women during the twenties were in leadership roles.

While you may know of these leaders, you will learn more about their unique characteristics.

Voices of Oklahoma will share these stories in the form of audio readings, with transcripts included.
